Protests against ESB lighting in honor of China

Hi all,
I just thought you might like to see pictures and video of the protestors in front of the Empire State Building. The skyscraper was lit in red and yellow on Wednesday night to honor the 60th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. Students for a Free Tibet were not happy about this, in light of all the human rights abuses in Tibet and China. The protestors could be seen waving Tibetan flags and holding signs, protesting the ceremony in the morning for the event later that night. The organization Human Rights In China also has an office in the building. Needless to say, the people at the HRIC was pretty pissed off. They didn’t even let her know until the day before the event.
