A Community Copy Center in the East Village

New York City Digital Copy Center is more than just a copy store.   The shop’s owner, Mousume Sarker, knows almost all of her customers.  Most of them have been coming for years.

In an era when most needs traditionally met by a copy store are increasingly handled by cheap and efficient big box stores like Staples, Sarker’s little neighborhood store holds on to its customers. The artists, students, professors and small-business owners keep coming, both for Sarker’s reliable skill and a real sense of community.
